A QUESTION TO MY PASTOR:
Accepting Jesus is the best thing that can ever happen to a man. As a matter of fact, a man who turns away from evil to Christ has not Christ a favor but has done himself and his generation a great favor. The gospel simply means good news. My question now is why do pastors ask everyone to close his/her eyes when calling out for new convert? why do they make gospel a shameful thing by telling the church to close their eyes before someone could accept Jesus into his life? i realize that it has now become a normal norm whenever an alter call is to be made. someone who wishes to change from his old nature would have to look right and left to see if someone sees him ready to accept Christ or not. while some would stylishly wait for others to come out first to be sure that they are not the only one ready to change from their old nature, some would be to shameful to come out at all. they would rather not signify their readiness. My bible says that whoever is ashamed of Christ on earth, God too would be ashamed of him. lets stop this hypocrisy in church and let's the people know that accepting Christ is the best thing that can ever happen to them. let the church see that people are been converted and let them rejoice over it. there is nothing to be ashamed of!
